Dacic about Kosovo, SPS, hoolingans, nationalism and EU

Yesterday (7 November 2013) Premier Dacic said that for years, political parties, in Serbia, courted hoolingans, while SPS courted nationalism and chauvinism. According to Dacic, the adoption of such a policy was “modern and popular when votes were needed”:

 Ispada kao da smo sad iznenađeni da postoje mafijaške i kriminalne grupe, a godinama i decenijama unazad se svi udvaraju tim grupama, pa i moja partija (SPS) je vodila ponekad politiku udvaranja nacionalizmu i šovinizmu jer je to bilo moderno i popularno kada trebaju glasovi – kazao je Dačić novinarima na jednom međunarodnom skupu u Beogradu.

Moreover, he appealed to Kosovo Serbs from Mitrovica, inviting them to vote the 17 November. Indeed, Dacic said that “if they do not go in a sufficient number to vote at the elections of 17 November, an Albanian will be their mayor”. Dacic asked: “Does anyone think that Serbia will sacrifice its future for ten thousand people?” Kosovo Serbs do not listen the Serbian government:

– Srbija je na udaru zato što njima pomaže, a šta treba da uradimo? Da uvedemo sankcije protiv njih? Koga oni slušaju? Oni ne slušaju ni Beograd, ni Prištinu, ni medjunarodnu zajednicu. A koga slušaju? Demokratsku stranku Srbije, Dveri, Obraz. Kako budete radili, tako će vam biti – rekao je Dačić.

Finally Dacic said that Serbia should have joined EU before Bulgaria and Romania:

 Da li neko misli da Albanija pre Srbije treba da bude članica  Evropske unije? Srbija je trebalo da postane članica pre Rumunije i Bugarske, ali to su ‘godine koje su pojeli skakavci’ – kako je rekao jedan naš poznati pisac (Borislav Pekić) i zato još jednom pozivam Srbe na razum – rekao je Dačić.
